Donna Allen,

MS LMFT (She/Her)

Professional

I am a therapist serving adult individuals and partners in relationship in Seattle since 2012. My goal as a therapist is to be a compassionate ally. I am here to help you move through big life challenges such as loss, grief, future planning, relationship difficulties, the aftermath of trauma, and major life stresses and change. I’ll offer you a safe space to get support, acceptance and respect, and I’ll teach you skills and tools to move you forward and develop a healthy and affirming relationship with yourself and with significant others.

"LMFT" stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and this means my orientation is from a systems point of view. Whether you are  interested in individual or relationship therapy, this approach gives me a wholistic view of the many factors in your life that impact you, both in terms of stressors and supports.

In addition to an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have a BS in Art Education, I am a long time practitioner of meditation, and a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor. I participate in ongoing professional training in topics such as mindfulness, yoga informed trauma therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), couples and relationship therapy and more, and my practice incorporates elements of all of these traditions where appropriate. Using creative and contemplative methods can often help you to access deeper levels of self understanding and insight than talk therapy alone. Combining both traditional and complementary methods creates a powerful and effective synergy designed to help you reach your goals.
