In our fast-paced culture that emphasizes productivity over presence, it can be easy to feel isolated and disconnected. Whether this is a disconnection from self, a partner, or a sense of purpose in life, these connections are critical for us to find deep engagement in the world and with others. When we experience major transitions in life, encounter loss and grief, experience trauma, enter periods of questioning or struggle with addiction or mental health challenges we can find ourselves feeling untethered and lost.
As a counselor, I provide a safe, accepting, respectful, and supportive space for individuals and couples to recover a sense of deep connection in their lives. I utilize person-centered approaches that support healthy attachment and attunement. My practice draws on a variety of perspectives that meet people where they are and orient them around the skills and tools that will best serve them in meeting their personal and/or relationship goals. My counseling is always trauma-informed and inclusive.
I serve a broad range of adult individuals as well as couples. I have specific experience and training in addressing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, sexual abuse, grief and loss, parenting challenges/transition to becoming a parent, perinatal mental health, ADHD, and individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
I graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Liberal Studies in 2011. I received my MA in Counseling/Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy from Prescott College in 2014. As an artist, I’ve been drawn to the therapeutic nature of art and writing my whole life so the impetus to evolve that into a role as a helping professional seemed a natural progression. I am also a yoga and meditation practitioner as well as a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. These elements are woven into my therapeutic practices as appropriate or desired and through an evidence-based lens. I love spending time outdoors with my family, making and eating delicious food, and exploring this beautiful earth.
